As far as I can tell it's enabled. Maybe it's part of a secret Blogger-Wordpress war... As long as I'm considered, I'm happy.
One other thought - the "two weeks" piece works great for blogs that publish daily. We only publish 1-2x per week though (slightly longer "article" type format for my readership). Thoughts on how to handle?
***It's probably my fault. I've taken the plug-n-play approach on this blog so far with little tweaking. And that's a good question you've posed. I'll be addressing that and other details in my next post on the issue. -Chuck

This sounds like a great idea! I waste a lot of time LOOKING for blogs with good content. There are many out there but it would be great to have someone point me in the right direction. Sheesh, just heard about this attractive idea over at Sonia Simone's remarkable communication blog. 318 responses already ... do you think you have a hit on your hands?
It certainly strikes me that many more folk write blogs than read them, and readers tend to be bloggers. Can we learn to savor reading more? Can we train the masses to read blogs daily? If the writing's really good, perhaps.

PS - Though my blog boasts maybe 20 readers tops, I love each one of them for giving me a chance.

I would say that the whole blogging community will be in support of this procedure, due to its intent on raising the bar on content that is shown to those searching for it. It is hard to see anyone against the concept brought up here, except for individuals that benefit from having their lower-quality content manipulated high into the prominent regions of search and directory sites for the public to view.

Great idea. I think 2 weeks is too long, maybe a week would be fine. We could all subscribe to their feed to help out. I mean, if you're not going to read them, just use Google Reader and create a label called "Helping other bloggers" and just leave them there marking all as read every few days.
I have a few ideas: Create a social network for bloggers only. Heavily trafficked or popular sites can require more "diggs" before they reach the front page
Top level bloggers can introduce new blogs in a post every weekend or something like that. Anyway I subscribed through RSS and am looking forward to your updates

I would love to be involved. Right now I have guest bloggers on my blog, participating with about 32 other writers for interactive virtual blog book tours, so this fits in with the whole networking scheme. Thank you
I love this idea! My subscription level is still relatively low, but part of what I am trying to do is turn people onto new blogs they might not find on their own. In fact, I have a weekly spotlight series dedicated to that.
Think this would be a great way to get exposed to new blogs, as well as hopefully find some "gems" to pass along to my readers.
Hey Chuck, this is a great idea! We're actually launching a new blog rank site in 2 weeks that helps promote the little guys, those blogs with good content but with few readers. It's called Viralogy, and we will only allow blogs with fewer than 50K readers on the site to be promoted.
Glad I can be a part of this movement and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
This is definitely a great idea. It looks like we may have to create multiple versions or communities doing the same thing just to accommodate the number of potential bloggers out there.

What a terrific idea, Chuck! I would love to be part of this movement to support the under-commented bloggers of this world. I think I have about five people who occasionally read my blog on "A Skeptic's Journey with Chiropractic", and most of them are my family, and one is my chiropractor! Anyhow, count me in. What a great idea. I try to offer links on my blog to other great, but lesser-read blogs. Unfortunately, my own readership isn't huge. But I love the I"ll scratch your blog, you scratch mine concept.
Check out the post I linked to this comment. It gives some excellent plugins proven to dramatically increase the number of comments in any blog plus tips on how to grow a community of loyal commentators.

Depending on social networking to build substantial traffic simply doesn't work. At first, you'll receive a modicum of traffic, but it will eventually play out.

One other thought - the "two weeks" piece works great for blogs that publish daily. We only publish 1-2x per week though (slightly longer "article" type format for my readership). Thoughts on how to handle?

We write timeless posts that will be read by generations to come much like Aesop's Fairy Tales are read today. We don't get lots of readers today, but over times, maybe 100s of years, our readership slowly builds.
